Ad Week Preview

Find out where you can hear from---and chat with---a whole lot of Yahoos in our comprehensive guide to all the best events in NYC next week.

For the denizens of the world of advertising, nothing beats Ad Week in New York City. This early Fall event annually gathers thousands of Don Drapers to dozens of events in Manhattan, providing the opportunity to show off the latest marketing innovations and renew and rejuvenate personal relationships. Oh yeah, there might be a few parties, too.

Yahoo! takes great pride in painting The Big Apple purple each time Ad Week rolls around, and this year is no exception. We're hosting a multitude of gatherings, and a number of Yahoos are speaking around town. If you're headed for Ad Week, we hope you'll join The Premier Digital Media Company at one or more of these events…

IAB MIXX

Yahoo! is sponsoring IAB MIXX and will host a lounge at IAB. We invite you to come experience some of Yahoo!'s best content while you take advantage of a comfy seat and power up at our charging stations (your phone can freshen up while you cool down). Throughout the two-day conference, digital's best and brightest will share their stories in an intimate setting in the Yahoo! Lounge, in the "Spotlight Series: Digital Media's Best Storytellers on...Everything." You don't want to miss this opportunity for exclusive access to the major industry thought-leaders.

We're also hosting a breakout session, "Extending your Brand on the Digital Canvas," which will take place on Monday October 3 on from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m., as well as a full-track session with BBDO titled "Branded Storytelling in the Digital Era." Finally, on Tuesday, October 4, Yahoo! is a finalist in three categories at the IAB MIXX Awards.

Yahoo! in Times Square

We are excited to promote our new office at 1540 Broadway in the Times Square area. We will be showing off our new digs as we host clients there, as well as at the ABC Studios at 44th and Broadway. One of those events includes the Yahoo! Connect Summit, where we will discuss trends across advertising in a multi-screen world.

GLAAD Panel and Amplifier Awards

On Tuesday, October 4 at 9:30 a.m., Shayne Thomas, Director, Yahoo! Pride, will speak on a panel discussing the issue "Where's the LGBT?". The session is to take place at Times Center Hall. Also, Yahoo! is a corporate sponsor of the GLAAD Amplifier Awards, to be held the night of October 4 at The Altman Building, 13 W. 18th Street.

Augmented reality app and contest

Heard about the big Clinton Foundation Concert Yahoo! is hosting in L.A. in October? Want to go? Then listen up: All during Ad Week, advertisers will be able to download an iPhone app and engage with Yahoo! content by putting themselves into the story, posing with augmented reality objects, uploading pictures and selecting headlines in top Yahoo! properties. All of Manhattan will be a "Hot Zone," including: the IAB MIXX Lounge, Yahoo!'s New York office location, ABC Studios events and Dunkin' Donuts stores in the Times Square area.

Each photo you take serves as an entry into the daily prize (an iPad 2) and every download qualifies for the grand prize---an all-expenses-paid trip to the Bill Clinton Foundation Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which will feature Lady Gaga, Usher, and Bono and The Edge from U2. Yahoo! brand ambassadors will be positioned at key Ad Week locations to provide any help you may need to enter and win.

Yahoo! Scene

Can't make it to Ad Week? You can still follow all the action, unveilings and party people via Yahoo! Scene. We'll be your "eyes and ears" of Ad Week, with slideshows, video interviews and overviews of the sessions.
