After years of covering the Emmys, we're getting our chance to thank the academy. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced that it has chosen Yahoo! as its official digital partner to stream red-carpet and behind-the-scenes online content for the upcoming Emmy Awards, set for Sept. 26. It marks the first time the academy has chosen a company outside of the broadcast network televising the Emmys to stream Web content.
“Yahoo is the ideal digital partner with a reach unlike any other to bring (Academy events) to television fans far and wide,” said Maury McIntyre, the academy’s VP of Digital.
As the top online destination for coverage of major awards shows such as the Emmys, we’ve built audiences of several million highly engaged users with extensive and original coverage before, during, and after the shows.
