Samsung Smart TVs will present content and offers that complement what viewers are watching
Connected TV just got a lot more connected for owners of Samsung Smart TVs, thanks to an expanded partnership announced today by Yahoo! and Samsung which will provide viewers with more options to access content around their favorite shows and commercials---and open up new and powerful opportunities for advertisers to engage them.
This new level of interactivity comes thanks to Yahoo!'s Soundprint and Connected TV technologies, which Samsung will begin integrating into its 2012 Smart TVs. Samsung TV viewers will be presented with real-time, actionable content that complements the shows and commercials they're watching, which they can access through their remote, connected tablet or phone.
Marketers can use the new features to transform traditional 30-second TV commercials into opportunities for deeper engagement and immediate action. For example, interactive commercials can be embedded with links to download apps or digital media, access coupons, order samples, read reviews, or view product information---which viewers can act on the moment they're delivered.
