Improved design and performance aim at increasing user engagement
When it comes to the daily habits of our 700+ million worldwide users, search is near the top of the list. Almost everyone who turns on the computer, tablet, or mobile phone searches for information a few times every day. Today we’re excited to announce changes to our search results page (rolling out first in the U.S.) that are aimed at enhancing the Yahoo! search experience, including a modern design and improved performance. The new experience is designed to make search easier and faster for consumers, while driving greater engagement and increased traffic volume for our advertisers.
Highlights of today’s announcement include:

- Faster performance for easier use
- A fresh look and feel that’s consistent with our recent homepage launch
"The new search experience offers great opportunities for advertisers,” said Tomaso Pozzi, Director of Product Management for Yahoo! Search. “Search ads are the best form of native content, and the new design presents ads and organic results in a modern experience. Our advertisers’ messages will stand out more while being tightly integrated with the rest of the page."
The updates announced today apply to our Web search and 13 vertical search areas, including image, video, news, sports, finance, and more. Stay tuned for more enhancements as we continue to create a better, more beautiful search experience for users, which will benefit our advertisers, too.
