Find audiences (at scale) who love to laugh as new Yahoo! channel launches with Bill Maher special
At Yahoo!, we love the funny. (Just look at our name.) And we love to bring the funny to our advertisers' audiences. Starting in February, we'll be bringing even more of it with the launch of the Yahoo! Comedy Channel on Yahoo! Screen.
This being election season, the funny will kick off with a free, live, stand-up performance by political comedian Bill Maher, "CrazyStupidPolitics: Bill Maher Live from Silicon Valley," on February 23. This only-on-Yahoo! exclusive will be an online broadcast from San Jose's Performing Arts Center. "It's new sales territory," Maher told the New York Times in a recent interview about his role in the Yahoo! Comedy Channel.

Laughs for audiences
Following Maher, Yahoo! has lined up a dynamic gaggle of short-form video programs, starring comedians like Mike O'Brien ("Saturday Night Live") and Seth Morris ("No Strings Attached," "I Love You Man") and many others. We'll also be showcasing viral video funnies like Break Media, StupidVideos, The Onion, Funny or Die, and EpicMealTime, as well as Yahoo! original programming's Odd News hosted by Greg Proops. Eyeballs for advertisers
But advertising, while fun, is no laughing matter, and advertisers are starting to line up to claim a part of Yahoo!'s huge audience. In fact, Progressive Insurance—no stranger to the funny with its clever ads featuring Flo—is already on board. That shouldn't come as a surprise given Yahoo!'s success record with the Yahoo!'s women's slate on Yahoo! Screen (10 million streams per month), which features shows like Morgan Spurlock's "Failure Club" that launched in November. With nine out of the top ten shows in online video, Yahoo! is the undisputed content leader on the Web.
