The Note is a perfect car for back-to-school, so Nissan targeted young car-buyers with this artistic, interactive Ad of the Week.
Hot off the assembly line, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note has already been named one of 10 best back-to-school cars by Kelley Blue Book. To win the hearts and wallets of young car buyers, Nissan recently ran an interactive ad on Yahoo.com that was an engaging mix of art and information.
The billboard ad at the top of the page let users grab a virtual can of spray paint and complete an ultra-colorful painting. Then they were whisked to Nissan Web pages that showed how the Note’s class leading fuel efficiency, back-seat legroom, and cargo space fits the student lifestyle.
Here’s how it works.
When you arrive on the page, you see a brightly colored Versa Note parked against a gray wall across a 970x245 billboard ad. The virtual spray can invites you to pick it up and splash colors across the wall to finish up a wild and groovy painting. And you paint with the same colors that are available for the Note, such as metallic peacock, red brick, super black, aspen white and morningsky blue.
The Nissan homepage billboard is a brilliantly simple yet engaging piece of digital interaction that lets users express themselves while soaking up cool things about the new Note.
