A brand new rich media display format makes a star-studded debut on Yahoo! TV. And that's a wrap!
The third week of August saw the world premiere of the double brand wrap on the Y! TV homepage.
As the country gets primetimed for the start of a new TV season next month, Warner Home Entertainment would like to double give you the chance to catch up on seasons of yore, in this case season two of "Mike & Molly," starring the Oscar-nominated Melissa McCarthy from "Bridesmaids," as well as the seventh and final season of "The Closer," a police procedural starring Kyra Sedgwick.
If it's your first time visiting Yahoo! TV, the double brand wrap will auto expand the 100x435 tabs on either side of the page into 580x500 screening rooms that show clips. The auto event lasts eight seconds and is frequency-capped at once per day per user.
After the screening rooms collapse back into tabs, the user can click to expand again to watch more of each show. The "Mike & Molly" tab in particular features five extended clips from season two.
This particular double brand wrap is complemented by three other formats: 1280x1024 rich gutters, a 300x250 unit on the right that plays a preview of "The Closer" season seven, and a 955x60 north banner.
If you click the north banner, it pushes down to a height of 250 pixels to provide you a more in-depth experience with "The Closer." You can watch the trailer, view a photo gallery, read the synopsis, and explore a slew of special features that include a gag reel, music videos, deleted scenes, and a documentary featurette.
The double brand wrap offers double the interactive experience. The user can get a much more complete picture of the product offerings with this type of digital immersion compared to, say, a TV spot.
