ABC promotes its new country-music drama with interactive features and a chance to win a trip to the real Nashville on Yahoo! Movies
Everyone knows about Nashville, the country-music capital and home of the Grand Ole Opry and all things twangy. But do you know about "Nashville," the new ABC drama that features dueling country-music divas? ABC is offering a crash course on its new show through an interactive pushdown on Yahoo! Music that also lets you enter for a VIP trip for two to the real Music City.
"Nashville" is the boot-scooting brainchild of Callie Khouri, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of "Thelma & Louise." It shows us the sparks behind the guitar-strumming when aging superstar Rayna (Connie Britton from "Friday Night Lights") is forced to team up with nouveau hot stuff Juliette (Hayden Panettiere from "Heroes").
It was a no-brainer in deciding on the perfect concert venue for ABC to plug the new show ("Great city. Even better show"): Front and center stage on Yahoo! Music.
The double act comes in the form of a 300x250 instrument on the right, which plays a teaser, and a 970x65 north banner that the user can expand to 250 pixels, allowing for the full band of interactive offerings.
A trio of extended trailers gives you a hearty taste of the drama. Peruse the menu of tweets that you can broadcast through the ad itself. And of course you'll want to take a virtual tour of Nashville and enter for a VIP trip for two to the real Music City. Social buttons round out the high-stepping experience.
The "Nashville" custom pushdown takes full advantage of the digital Music canvas to give music lovers a much more fulfilling sense of what the show is all about than any single TV spot.
