Where can you find a rich, interactive custom pushdown with video, wallpaper, and social media that stars a beer-swilling teddy bear? Only on Yahoo! Movies
"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane has made his transition to the silver screen in loud, foul-mouthed, Boston-accented, sidesplitting fashion courtesy of a cuddly, cussing teddy bear named Ted. Universal and Yahoo! teamed up to promote the eponymous feature film with a custom pushdown on the Movies homepage.
The party starts when the 950x60 north banner pushes down to 250 pixels to let teddy do a quick tease before pulling his ad back up. The other two ad units are the rich gutters framing the page with leading man Mark Walhberg and his childhood bear breaking the seal while the 300x250 pane on the right lets you watch a trailer, buy tickets, and follow Ted on his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Opting to push the north banner back down lets the user have even more fun with Ted. You can watch the teaser again, the TV spot, or a full-length trailer. Why not subscribe to Ted's tweets? Be sure to "Like" Ted on Facebook so you can view photos and get the lowdown on fans' wild nights with Ted.
True to the irreverent, tipsy spirit of MacFarlane's homage to laughing til it hurts, Ted's custom pushdown has fun with the user and invites the user to have fun right back.
