Who needs a club? Users can create their own soundtracks and lightshows while learning all about Nissan’s totally revamped 2013 Sentra
The Nissan Sentra has gone through a total makeover for 2013 and now boasts a redesigned interior and exterior, all-new navigation and electronics systems, and even LED-accented headlights and taillights. To introduce the Sentra in style, Nissan and Yahoo! created a disco interactive ad on the Yahoo! homepage that lets users control a digital LED light show and thumping soundtrack that can keep them engaged and amused (and learning all about the Sentra) for hours.
Both the 970x55 north banner and the 300x250 right-side unit invite the user to “click for a light show.”
The show begins with the pulsing beat of M83’s “Midnight City” as the live-page content gives way to an undulating curtain of lights. Prepare to do the hustle as you manipulate the musical layering with your mouse and keyboard. Go ahead and turn on all eight layers for the full sonic immersion that’ll match the visual immersion of the digital showroom accessible via the “Explore the All-New Nissan Sentra” button.
Photo galleries and a carousel of four videos let you do a deep dive into Sentra’s brag points, like the advanced NissanConnect electronics system, added leg room, and those fancy LED lights. Did you know, for example, that the Sentra’s XTronic continuously variable automatic transmission uses belts instead of gears, which helps boost fuel efficiency without compromising performance? The video actually makes transmission details interesting!
Nissan's approach was to take apart the already-great Sentra and completely reimagine it with best-in-class components and features maximized by an innovative technology suite. What better way to visualize that than to reimagine Yahoo!'s digital canvas with an innovative, best-in-class rich media extravaganza?
