Interactive ad on Yahoo! Movies includes action-packed video clips and features that will leave 007 fans stirred, not shaken
"007 reporting for duty." It's been four years since your favorite MI6 agent saved the world for queen and country in "Quantum of Solace." To celebrate 007's return in the new movie "Skyfall," Sony Pictures and Yahoo! Movies have collaborated on a custom pushdown that includes video clips to fire up fans and a Fandango virtual ticket window to help them check show times and get tickets to see the flick at their local cinemas.
In "Skyfall," 007 (Daniel Craig) has to reckon with the ancient sins of his boss M (Oscar winner Judi Dench). Directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes ("American Beauty"), it's the 23rd movie in the incredible Bond franchise. And what better place to execute (No pun intended. Oh wait, yes it was.) a custom pushdown with a virtual ticket window than on the Showtimes page of Yahoo! Movies?
The first time a user reports for duty, the 970x65 sky banner falls to 420 pixels for a brief intro capped at once per day per user. It then pushes back up as both it and the 300x250 unit play a "Skyfall" preview.
The user has a license to play the 300x250 unit again, but why not aim higher by expanding the north banner? In addition to the video, the expanded banner features a virtual ticket window on the lower right that lets you look up tickets and showtimes in your area utilizing Yahoo!'s partnership with Fandango.
The "Skyfall" custom pushdown with ticket window lets the user take control of the mission in a way only an ad in the digital space would give license to click through.
