"Friends" was one of Warner Brothers' most successful TV shows of all time, one of those shows legions of loyal fans arranged their lives around. So when it came time for Warner Brothers Home Video to launch a new boxed set of Blu-ray DVDs of the wildly popular series, they went big and bold with a custom expandable ad on Yahoo! TV that includes video, photo galleries, and even a Facebook page.
Hard to believe it's been eight years since Rachel, Ross, Monica, Joey, Phoebe, and Chandler went off the air after 10 seasons (its season finale drew 51.1 million viewers).The new boxed set includes all 236 episodes plus 20 hours of bonus content---and comes out just in time for the holidays.
Warners went to the Yahoo! TV canvas for its interactive custom pushdown. The 300x250 unit on the right supplements the meat of the rich media experience contained in the 950x60 north unit. Expanding that unit pushes it down to a height of 245 pixels to offer you a wealth of digital interaction.
The goodies here include a video with a trailer and clip. "About" spells out the lengths Warners went to in creating the most pristine edition of this show to date (and don't forget to drool over the plethora of bonus features). "Gallery" lets you see how young we all used to be.
